A few scanning tips

Samples of Scanner Acquire Menus

Here are the Acquire/Import menus of some popular image programs.

You would use these menus to start the scanner driver to scan a photo.

• IrfanView
  
  Select Twain Source (the scanner driver) and then Acquire.
  This free program (www.irfanview.com) works great to run the scanner, and it's an excellent image viewer, and has good Batch Conversion options to resize and convert file type for multiple files at once.

• Adobe Elements or Photoshop
  
  Adobe Photoshop and Elements have similar menus. The latest versions simply show the twain sources (scanners) instead of another menu to select them. 64 bit Photoshop has no TWAIN capability, the 32 bit version has to be used for scanning.
